In the 2025 NFL Season a few teams had over 20 interceptions on the season and usually most seasons a few teams do. The interception stat has been kept since 1933. Since that time only one time did not have an interception the entire NFL Season, who were they?
The 2025 New York Jets went the entire season without a single interception! Not a tip, not a touch, not a deflection. The Jets are the only team in NFL history to go an entire season without an interception since the stat started to be kept 93 years ago back in 1933. .
The NFL's first draft pick was selected in 1936. That pick was Jay Berwanger, he had just won the Heisman Trophy, but realized that the NFL was not a high paying career (obviously, things were different in 1936). Instead, Jay became an Insurance Salesman after College because it paid better. 11 Years later in 1947, Pro Basketball started a draft. The first selection ever was made by the Pittsburgh Ironmen and they drafted Clifton McNeely. Just like the first ever NFL Pick, McNeely decided not to play Pro Basketball because it did not pay enough. So, instead of playing Pro Basketball he Coached Basketball at Pampa High School in Texas because it paid better.
As the years have progressed salaries in Pro Sports have increased. So when Major League Baseball decided to have it's first ever draft in 1965, this player would compete in the League all the way up until 1984 and win a World Series in 1981, save the American Flag during a Baseball game and become the first draft choice in Major League Baseball history when the A's made him their first ever draft pick. Who was the first player to ever be selected in the Major League Baseball draft?
Answer: Rick Monday was the first pick of the 1965 Major League Baseball Draft. Monday was drafted by the Kansas City Athletics, who became the Oakland A's in 1968. In 1972 Monday became a Chicago Cub and as a Cub playing at Dodger Stadium in 1975 he saved the American Flag from someone that was trying to burn it in between innings. It was a rare occasion when the crowd at Dodger Stadium cheered for someone on the other team and final season he became a Dodger. A few years later in 1981, Monday hit a clutch Home Run on the road in Montreal against the Expos to help the Dodgers get into the World Series where they would defeat the New York Yankees and win the World Series. At the age of 80, today in February of 2026 Rick Monday is still going strong with the Los Angeles Dodgers in their broadcast booth. Rick Monday, the only first draft pick from any of the 3 Major Sports that actually played what he was picked to do.
